In my search for wonderful crib bedding—which is hard to find—I am amazed at the selection I found at AllModernBaby.com and their sister store CSNBaby.com.
Not only are there tons of options, they are organized so well, that you can quickly find what you are looking for for the price you want…I am never again going to be thumbing through the few options available around town!
This is the place to go!!
Look for my future post on the fantastic SkipHop Saddlebag I am getting to solve a longtime problem I have had with my Joovy sit and stand stroller —- where to put the diaper bag???? Genius!!

How cool! Decorative chalkboard stickers that you stick on your kiddos’ walls, and let them doodle away. The pre-cut stickers press on, and can be removed and repositioned, when you feel the need to “redecorate.” Choose from two different sets, $21.95 each (wow, that seems like a decorating deal): Planes + Clouds (comes with four clouds and two plans, one of the large), or House + Trees (includes large house, large tree, bird, sun, and three flowers). You can find these in the Acacia catalog.

Multipurpose is the smarties’ mantra in these economic times. If you haven’t yet uncovered the Stokke line in your search for necessary kid furniture that’s built to last, then here’s a quick chance for enlightenment.
Our first Stokke pieces were the Sleepi crib and Care changing table. We just couldn’t swallow purchasing a crib that for $800 served no purpose beyond a sleeping space for tinies and, if were were lucky, would expand to suit a toddler before collecting dust in the attic. Imagine our thrill in finding the Sleepi, which starts as the Mini bassinet, then converts up to larger crib, a toddler bed, a full-sized children’s bed, then ultimately breaks into two chairs. How’s that for ultra useful, and getting incredible bang for your buck?
The Stokke Care changing table grows right along with your kids, too. Use it for books or storage, or convert it to a small or large desk.
We love the ergonomic Tripp Trapp highchair, too. We never had room, either in our small kitchen or more minimalist design sensibility, for a big, bulky high chair. The modern look suits our taste, plus the chairs tuck right under the table, just like grownup chairs. We’ve now got one for each kid. They’ll be siting in them until they’re in high school — the highchairs also adjust to grow with your kids — or decide to belly them up to the changing-table-turned-study-desk.
Stokke’s multipurpose/expandable designs are a boon to those of us who like to avoid the excess packaging and “disposable” mentality of so many products today. These things Stokke are made to be used — for a long time, by a lot of kids. Hooray.

Finding the right nursing chair — ugh, it’s a cunundrum. With decidedly modern taste, I looked high and low to find the right chair. Never did for baby #1; instead, we rocked in a rickety, noisy, rattan number I’d bought right after college. No amount of pillows made it just right comfortwise. And, after my c-section, and then later when great with child #2, it was darn near impossible to get out of. Yeah, there are lots of gliders out there — and they are probably the most comfortable option — but I just could find anything that didn’t scream “traditional.”
If only I’d found Glam Glider (above) by Jennifer Delonge. With a 360-degree swivel and rocking capacity, too. The chair and ottoman come in hip colors (including celery, steele blue, apple green, as well as several more subdued selections). Frankly, I think they’ll fit with any decorating style. Check out the site’s other offerings. The retro-inspired furnishings, kid-size Grace table and stools are just plain fun.
I must tell, you though, that what we did find, right before #2 arrived, was the awesome Storytime Rocker (below, in mocha) and ottoman made by Lawson-Fenning for Nurseryworks. We love it’s solid square aspect and swoop of the wooden legs, and the fact that it’s double-wide — it fits mama/daddy and child, side by side for those long sessions with the Richard Scarry tomes and other faves — and customizable in terms of colors, materials and leg finishes. There’s also a Sleepy Time version, with a higher back that’s perfect for nursing moms, especially during those zombified wee hours of the morning when junior’s at his hungriest and mom’s at her most tired.

Hoping to outfit your nursery in a modernist way? You’ll swoon over some of Nurseryworks other offerings — from cribs and dressers, to bedding and accessories and even super-cool letterpress posters (above) made for for the company by Onethread. Makes me want to have baby #3 just to reoutfit the baby’s room (just kidding, Dear!).

A while back, the catalog for Twilite Moon came to my house and I have been looking at their website ever since.
They have the most amazing selection of stylish items for mom, dad and baby. The items tend to be quite modern, though they do have some traditional items as well. Look at this amazing dresser for a child’s room. There is also a funky low piece that could be great for storing toys. If you are looking for your child’s furniture to be art, these are the ticket… You can customize what the accent drawer color is too! Maybe these should be in your room…so chic!

And GASP!! Sexy Nursing Bras??? They found ‘em…How’d they do that??

They also have a selection of accessories for safety and many practical items as well, such as the Sleepsack which I used and loved for my daughter—keeps little babies warm and covered without the fear of having them sleeping with loose blankets. In our experience, loose blankets never stayed on a sleeping baby, AND I was afraid about the blankets covering her face…the Sleepsack solves both problems.
At Twilite Moon, they put together a wonderful section to help you find gifts for every kind of child and family.
Twilite moon is one of those baby boutiques that makes moms drool—-and that has MomAppeal!

One of my absolute favorite online boutiques, Luca Bleu, is offering a fantastic promotion! They are offering FREE hanging wall letters (up to 7) with their ultra-cute hanging ribbon in the color of your choice when you purchase crib or twin bedding.
This online boutique houses some of the hottest names in children’s bedding such as Maddie Boo, New Arrivals, Nursery Works and Banana Fish. Oh yes!!!! FREE shipping on bedding bedding purchases!!! When I was out visiting family, my sister-in law had a rather unusual looking device on her beautiful twin babys’ dresser(I am a proud first-time aunt can you tell??). I had to ask about it and found out it was a Tykelight!
TykeLights are these amazing little light-up creatures that contain a rechargeable battery which keeps them going for 10 hours. Set the TykeLight on it’s base (which plugs into the wall) to get some juice, take it off and it lights up! Perfect for providing light for your child in the middle of the night, AND, it’s portable for those walks down the hallway in the middle of the night to mom and dad’s bed or the bathroom… genius!
Ours is coming via Amazon and I can’t wait for it! It is also available at Target online , and possibly in their stores. Take a look at the differences–one model does have a sleep timer which will turn the TykeLight off after 15 minutes. That feature is great for not wanting so much light all night, or as an agreed upon signal to your child that it’s time to stop playing with toys and books in bed and get to sleep. Since it doesn’t plug into the wall, you also don’t have to worry about little hands fidgeting with it while it is in the outlet—a nightlight problem in our house! TykeLights absolutely have MomAppeal! Mama Jen

I first fell in love with the Chilewich designer woven vinyl products in 2001. I encountered bags and floor mats that are so fashionable and verrrrry easy to take care of. You literally can take them outside and hose them off to clean…they dry quickly and are as good as new!! As a mom now, I can especially see the added benefit of using mats and bags made of vinyl. Ever had a sippy cup spill in your bag???
I was reminded of this line not long ago while in a store and decided to see what’s new–well– A lot is new! For one, they have engineered a new type of flooring called plynyl. Many new styles of bags, a hospitality section for your dining area, and more mats!
Check out the products Sandy Chilewich has to offer to jazz up your space or your child’s space!

Sue Byrne and her daughter-in-law Ann Marie Byrne who run room threads can do that for you—and with tons of style!!!
Check out the detailed Dragon sheet set for your wild child!!

I absolutely love it!!
Then, for the softer at heart, there is the great Dress-Up style sheet set…soooo sweeeet!!
I also adore the Flip-Flop, Crabby, and Oar styles as well. I think they can be fantastic for adults too—I am going to have to show these to my mother who just built a northwoods cabin! How cute would those styles I just mentioned be on the beds up there??!!!
The skill that these women have is apparent. Wonderful edging, and high quality embellishments will not be uncomfortable when they touch even the most sensitive skin.
They also make custom crib bedding for those of you, who, like me, couldn’t find anything in the stores that fit what I was looking for. Add to that custum changing pads, teething cloths, bibs and burp cloths, and you are set!
If you want the extra personalization, spring for a name to be added to the sets. Great way to transition a fussy toddler to their “own” bed!
Currently, you can order directly through roomthreads.com–great customer service by the way–or find these sets included in hip online boutiques such as Maddie’s Closet, Rosenberry Rooms, Baby’s In Style and Angeli Boutique.
Why not add some Mom Appeal with a little “room frosting!” Mama Jen
